| 9/4/2010 | Darington Hobson, G | The Bucks have signed Hobson. The 6-foot-7, 210-pound junior was taken 37th overall out of New Mexico in this year's draft. Terms were not disclosed when the signing was announced Friday. Analysis: Hobson averaged 16.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists over three college seasons, the first two at Eastern Utah. Last season at New Mexico, Hobson averaged career-highs in rebounds (9.3) and assists (4.6) while scoring 15.9 points and shooting a career-best 36.1 percent from 3-point range (39-108). Hobson was the Mountain West Conference's Newcomer of the Year and Player of the Year. He was also named a Third Team All-American by The Associated Press. |

The team announced Wednesday that it has signed the 6-foot-3 guard, who was suspended for the first 10 games of the 2010-11 season after pleading guilty to weapons charges in Maryland. Analysis: Maryland authorities said he was carrying two loaded handguns, a loaded shotgun and an 8 1/2-inch Bowie knife while speeding on a three-wheel motorcycle on the Capital Beltway last September. He was sentenced to home detention but may travel to games. West has averaged 10 points and 3.7 assists over his career. He was waived last month by the Minnesota Timberwolves, who had acquired him only a week earlier in a trade with Cleveland. |

After an MRI, a team doctor recommended that Nocioni stay off the court until the start of training camp at the end of September. |

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson says officers went to the facility Aug. 13 after a report of an altercation involving Smith and another player in a pickup game. The other player isn't in the NBA. Analysis: Jackson said Thursday that a complaint against Smith was investigated and the district attorney declined to pursue it, but the investigation has been reopened because another witness came forward. Smith served 24 days in a New Jersey correctional facility last year after pleading guilty to reckless driving in a car crash that killed a friend. |

| 8/24/2010 | Yao Ming, C | Ming is confident that he'll be ready for the start of the regular season after a team doctor said his surgically repaired foot has fully healed. Yao missed last season after undergoing complex surgery on his left foot. Team doctor Tom Clanton has cleared Yao to resume basketball activities with no physical limitations. Analysis: Yao went through a rigorous workout for reporters at the Toyota Center on Tuesday. He worked on his post moves with teammate Chuck Hayes and 7-footer James Cripe, a player in the NBA's developmental league. General manager Daryl Morey says the team will be cautious with Yao and limit his minutes early in the season. The Rockets open training camp on Sept. 25. They will travel to China in mid-October for two preseason games against New Jersey. |

Analysis: Tests Monday revealed the Raptors player tore a muscle in his left leg in Sunday's 86-85 loss. Calderon had headed to the locker room late in the game. He went scoreless with three assists. The Spanish federation says Calderon needs four weeks to recover. The 28-year-old was part of Spain's 2006 world champion team and won Olympic silver two years ago in Beijing. |

Analysis: Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan was running the Washington Wizards when he selected Brown straight out of high school with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 draft. The big man turned out to be a major disappointment. Now Jordan hopes the 6-foot-11 Brown will add depth. He averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds with Detroit last season. |
